Mark Gillespie Vice
President
Mark Gillespie
is one of the two founding partners of TMI Electrical
Contractors, which began business in 1983. Mark’s enthusiasm and positive
energy, in addition to his solid planning skills, were integral
in helping get TMI
Electric started. Mark completed his education at Central
Technical College with a degree in electrical construction and
spent years in the
electrical construction industry before starting TMI Electric.
He has also obtained a Construction Management degree from Purdue
University. Mark’s hard word and business savvy have
earned him many accolades from the Cincinnati business
community. In 2000,
the Cincinnati Business
Courier awarded Mark and TMI Electrical Contractors
with the Emerging
Business of the Year Award.
Mark has a
strong belief in giving back to the electrical industry. He
serves locally and nationally in the
following ways:

Has a seat on the National Fire Protection Association
(NFPA) Electrical Standards
Committee
•
Serves on the Independent Electrical Contractors
Association (IEC) National Apprenticeship and
Training
Committee
•
Serves as the Chairman of the CEATC
Apprenticeship Board
•
Advisor with the Warren County Joint Vocational Center and
Scarlet Oaks Electrical Construction
programs
Mark’s other
responsibilities include:
•
Appraising new and existing buildings and
developing an estimate as to the cost of installing or
upgrading thecurrent
electrical system.
•
Managing multiple projects concurrently with
various contractors and builders.
•
Obtaining permits, scheduling work and
establishing time lines for the completion of
projects.
•
Troubleshooting problems with upgrades or
installations.
•
Marketing electrical contracting
services.
•
Researching and communicating with local
utilities companies, policymakers and building
inspectors
regarding
changes and updates to the electrical code.
Personal
Mark is the
father of four adult children, two of whom are working on
graduate degrees. He and his wife
Diane love the
outdoors and enjoy spending time on their small ranch
taking care of horses. The Gillespie’s have volunteered with Vineyard
Community Church for more than 15 years, helping young
people with
issues of recovering after divorce.
Mark’s motto
over the past two decades has been: "Deliver just a
little extra to each customer and give
the customer a
little more than what was required." This idea has served
TMI Electric well for over 25years and will continue to be Mark’s
goal for years to come.
