Power is distributed to your building at your electrical panel. While the panel you have now may have been sufficient when each room only had a light bulb and a pair of outlets, today's needs are vastly more advanced than even a decade ago.

The NEC (National Electrical Code) is rewritten, often with as many as 1500 code changes, every three-years.
